Gary - If any such records exist, it would have been at the retail music stores that sold the kits. I'd say most, if not all, of the old music stores are gone.
If you're talking about that Purple Sage kit, then Slingerland may have at one time had some record of the kit. Was Shanahan a Slingerland endorser? I don't think those records exist now. Who would have kept them?
I think your best bet is to spend time on the web tracking down some contact info for Shanahan. Maybe through a record company, or some recent music venture. There has to be some trail you can follow to him. Then ask him. His response to you will be all the provenance you need!

John it seems to me what a difference in money i got all of this stuff and you got one drum sometime the one drum is better cant wait to here from u when u get it merry xmas this amount of stuff is overwhelming when im use to simple trap kit
