Refinished 60s Gretsch RB kit Last viewed: 2 hours ago

I recently purchased a 60s Gretsch 13,16,22 kit with matching 8 lug snare

as a project to restore. The wrap on the 13 and 16 were in very poor condition and the drums had not faded evenly. The shells luckily had no extra holes and were in great shape overall.The snare is in excellent shape and I chose to leave it its original condition.

I have always liked wood finish kits so I chose to finish this kit in walnut

with a clear gloss finish.

Bass drum hoop inlays were missing so I was able to cut them from the original WMP bass drum wrap and install.

Overall, I am happy with the results and they sound great as well!

Thanks Randy I'm pretty jazzed about the CD kit meself. After seeing this Gretsch rehab of yours, I'm convinced I should put some gloss on mine too. It won't be as professional, will have to wait for spring so I can do it outside, but yeah, gloss it is fersure!

That is one of the most beautiful kits I have ever seen! I know very little about Gretsch drums but, I'll bet they sound amazing! Truly spectacular job! Breathtaking!
