Reggae on Ludwig Rockers & S-102 Last viewed: 18 minutes ago

Loading...

I subbed for one of my old bands on Saturday night on the St Charles River in Québec City & it was logistically easier to use their drums, a badge-less Rockers paired with my Standard S-102. I had lots of fun playing those huge toms, which work great in that musical context. The S-102 cranked up a bit has a perfect bite & bark for reggae. So yeah, I got to be a "luddite" for a night, then back on my Rogers on Sunday's gig.

Those look great. Those Rockers have been stripped I presume? Lovely!

Yup, they have been stripped & they're nice shells underneath. Nothing funky that would have warranted a wrap to cover up.

Must...have...S-102!

Actually considering making a Frankensnare by buying a beadless aluminum shell and then using some surplus Slingerland lugs and hoops that I have. Hmm.

I've been looking at beaded polished aluminium shells from drummaker.net to salvage a pitted out (to hell) Supra I have kicking around. I'm loving the S-102 though & it did a great job on both reggae & blues on the weekend. A really fun drum to play!
