Hey Guys, I work with a Beatles Tribute Band and we want to add a "Cavern" set to the show and need to build a Ringo Premier Kit as close as possible. I was wondering if anyone knows of a company who makes the mahogany wrap or can custom make it? What would be the cost to custom make it if so? If no luck I'll have to hand paint the shells which could take me weeks/months and I'm not looking forward to it (not why I went to art school haha). Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Ringo Premier Mahogany Drum Wrap Last viewed: 1 hour ago
There's a thread somewhere in here that goes over applying a thin wood veneer over a shell. You could do that...at an angle. It would achieve the same result. You would have waste, but it would work, no worries.
Thanks mcjnic that's a good idea! I'll look into it.
There were two good ones from kellyj
One was called "wood veneer", and the other was "sonor rosewood restoration".
Try these guys. Call and talk to them, tell them exactly what you are up to. I did the uinteriors of my drums with veneer from them, they have a vest inventory. www.theveneerstore.com
If you talk them thru what your exact expectations are, and have some really good measurements, and are willing to look at some drops, you can get a really good deal. Shipping is often more then the cost of material.

Thanks a lot Guys! kellyj's drums look awesome. I think the veneer will work nicely.
