Ringo's 1123 Hi hat stand Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Does anyone have a picture of one of these - the style that Rino used? Was the foot plate different in any way? I'm looking for all the details on Ringo's stand that I can get. I'm looking to get one to replace my WFL flat base stand and I want to be sure I'm getting the right one. Thanks.

The 1123 hi hat has the square-heeled footplate, rather than the 'Speedking' footplate with the 'flipper' heel piece. It's a fairly obvious difference......marko

he played an 1121 first. but the 1123 is usually associated with him.

marko is right on as usual. its the only flat based model that has spurlok on the pedal. the 1121's have a rounded pedal that read speed king. the other spurlok(1123-1) is not flat based.

prices are all over the board. i know someone that got one for 75 bucks a few months ago. one is on ebay tonight and has an hour to go and is sitting at 330 bucks!

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Thanks guys, that's the one I figured it was. There's a guy selling one with a kit locally, but I don't want to buy a kit just for the stand. The kit is vintage 60's Ludwig, but it's all over the place in terms of sizes, early/late pieces, etc.

Funny story - a guy had a lot of 4 hi hat stands on the local CL and listed them for $15 each or all 4 for $50 - one was an 1123, and the others were modern junky stands. I emailed him that I would gladly take all 4 off his hands. He replied that I'd have to wait until the next day as he was busy, and I said no prob as long as I could take all of them. He emailed me the next day saying that a guy went by and only took the Ludwig and gave him $20 for it, so he`d gladly give me the other 3 stands for $35 DOH
