Ringo's Luddwig Set Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Hi all,

Just seen this advertising an auction of Ringo Star / Beatles items in December.

Any guesses what his set will sell for, and more importantly, who will get it?

My guess is someone from Japan or USA.

I'm guestimating over $1 million.

It would be nice if it came back to the uk, but, I very much doubt it.

Lets all watch this space so to speak.

This will go for big bucks - I also like the look of his Hal-Blain inspired Octoplus toms but I suspect that there is absolutely masses of really interesting memorabilia in those storage units. Ringo has spent a lifetime around some of the most famous and influential musos in the business and the kind of gifts that they used to give and receive. I bet it's like an Aladdin's cave!

"If 'A' equals 'success' in life then 'A' equals 'X' plus 'Y' plus 'Z' where work equals 'X', 'Y' is play and 'Z' is keeping your mouth shut" - Albert Einstein.

1938 8"x15" Leedy Broadway Standard
1947-53 14x6.5" NOB Ludwig & Ludwig Universal
...plus a bunch of mismatched Slingerlands that collectively make a pleasing noise.

Hopefully an actual drummer will buy it. C'mon guys, don't you all have a spare million or so?

If I did, I wouldn't spend it on the OBP set pictured on the site, because those just ain't Ringo's drums...

I suspect that the real set will be available for close inspection by actual, qualified bidders. Will Ringo's kit end up in the hands of a drummer? I think so. I hope so. There's a lot of rich rock stars out there with deep pockets, but I think there's only one who deserves, and would truly appreciate this iconic piece of Ludwig and Beatles history... BEC!

My new "to do" list..

1- Go to the market to pick up some groceries..

2- Pick up dry cleaning

3- Go buy realistic looking toy gun

4- Go to my bank and rob the place of about 1 million , just to be safe..

5- Then begin my bidding..:D

I just wish somebody, for once, would not mention Ringo when selling an OBP kit. Just once. Sheesh...
