I don't think I'd go that far. The Rogers 360's were nice drums for the money and being built by Yamaha they were a step above most of the other MIJ drums of the time but the hardware fittings on these weren't the best. Fit and finish of the 360's might have been carried out a bit better than what Ludwig was doing in 64/65 when they had trouble keeping up with all the orders pouring in. The Rogers were built after the Beatle boom had cooled down but, while they might be built to a slightly higher finish standard they were being made of lesser materials so the end result wasn't necessarily better.

Those kits weren't really "replicas" of Ringo's kits, rather Rogers happened to offer the same wrap (although they called it Black Strata) so you could get a set that looked like Ringo's .

If you were in a Beatles tribute and on a tight budget they would probably fill the bill as a po' man's Ringo set but from a collector's standpoint they don't seem to have much value, at least not that I've seen. I was tempted once to snag one of these sets off ebay a few years back. It sold for $150 but I just couldn't really justify the purchase. I'm guessing they do go for more these days but probably nothing near what similarly wrapped Ludwig's bring...and there's a reason for that. They aren't what Ringo used.

Not even close..The early Rogers 360's were nice and were decently manufactured for a lower budget Rogers kit, but they don't compare to the Ludwigs. Totally different wood composition, hardware, etc.

I believe he was just talking about the wrap, not the whole drum.

Considering different wood, I would call comparing the whole drums to be a case of apples vs. oranges. Meanwhile, quality of the Rogers 360/380 of that era is very high - as many owners in the know have testified here and on other forums.

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

I have both a 9/72 Black Strata Londoner V nd a R-360 "Double Soul". The wrap on the 360 is somewhat "beadier"(?)
