Ringo's Premier Duroplastic Kit Last viewed: 3 hours ago

I'm not sure what to make of this auction. Obviously he didn't own this kit back in the early 1960s. The auction company has no idea of the date of the kit or when Ringo came into possession of it. While $500 is a good deal there is a 25% buyer's fee added to the final price plus shipping and sales tax if applicable which could bring the total close to or over $1,000. Any comments or thoughts? Thanks.

I find it weird that the auction company has no information at all about the kit other than Ringo owned it. And they expect people to bid on it.

And I'm sure it will sell for a good price, just being owned by Ringo.

I remember it having a swivo-matic tom holder not the Premier one shown

Yes, at some point Ringo had the drum shop change out the tom mount to the Rogers Swivo.

From what I heard it is a kit that either Ringo bought or was given to him because it was similar to his first Beatle kit (which remains lost to the ages so far, although reputed to have ended up somewhere in Australia). So not his first Beatles kit but one that resembles the one he did have and this actually did BELONG to Ringo ( albeit long after the Beatles era). That's probably enough to push the dollar amount up there pretty high compared to any other similar Premier kit (except perhaps the real Ringo one, when and if it does surface).

Check out Ringo's studio kit, then go to my profile and check out my Ludwig kit.. Look familiar ? ;) I got my wrap from the same company which supplied Ludwig with the custom wrap for that kit and 2 other kits called "Cracked Ice", and

"Moonstruck Silver"..The company is called Lumigraf, exclusive here to Montreal, Que. Canada.. Check out their site for the really unique and cool wraps !

http://www.drum-wraps.com/ Julien's also made a mistake on the wrap finish...It's not "Burl Navy",

but rather "Burl Silver" like mine, only the swatch on the Lumigraf site looks like the wrap is completly silver, when in actuality, it's not.. If you check out the Burl Navy on Lumigraf's site, it's clearly too Blue to be the one from the auction.
