Crying in the rain... locked into my head for the past few days... I would always cover the top vocal harmony on this..

Cathy's clown .. I had forgotten the hours working on the beat for beat snare syncopation

... easy now.. but back then..

Really strong songs and part of my early development into music...

Cheers

From Purdie Shuffle

If you can manage to isolate (in your head as you listen,) Phil's harmony part in Cathy's Clown, you'll gain a whole new respect for him as a musician. He not only doesn't miss a note, the notes he is hitting are all 3rds or 5ths to Don's part. It's amazing stuff on any level. Just as a pure performance, or taken apart to study it, it's powerful material delivered by two profoundly gifted musicians/singers. Those two voices doing harmony can still send electrical jolts charging up my spine. Makes the little hairs on the back of my neck stand up.John

I just sat and really listened to the harmony sung on Cathy's Clown. I say "really listened" because of all the times I have heard this song, this is the first time I've sat and honed in and separated the harmony parts. Absolutely amazing!!!! electricit
