So sad to hear. That man was an artist with drums and recently with cymbals. There just aren't that many "Masters of the Art" around to begin with. With the loss of Roberto, a huge hole is left behind. Sorry to hear of his passing.

Oh, no. I'm so sorry to hear that. He was only one of about three people who actually was a real artisan when it came to drums and cymbals. I would have loved to own a few of his pieces, but they were always out of my financial reach. I was just one of many people who admired the beauty of his work.

This loss on top of the recent death of Paul Motian is very sad.

How old was he? Was it an illness or just old age?

There is always a void in the world when an artist passes...

I don't know specifics, but viewing some clips from earlier this year it is pretty obvious that the guy was not well.

The guy who made these is who *we (*drummers everywhere) all lost.
