I've never seen one before but did find it in a 1964 catalog. Would love to hear this drum.

Does this look legit? Tension rods don't look right...

Looks like a converted parade snare or tom. That ring on the batter hoop is the attachment for a strap (if original to drum; bet it is); + the 2 bolts look portentous.

I was in discussion with the seller about the size when it sold. I believe it is 8x14, but never got that confirmed. It has a tab on the top rim and two extra holes for marching application. Think it sold for $1100-1200. Not so sure that's a bargain or not because I've never seen one like it!Eye Ball

Yes, I thought it was an 8X15, and in the past used as a marcher. I've never seen one like it either.

Interesting drum.

The seller's description, "roughly 15.75" wide and 9" tall" is obviously based on the common "hoop to hoop" measurements most non-drummers take, so I think we can assume it's a 8x15. That Dyna badge number dates it as 1964, and the 1964 catalog shows it as a concert model, not a parade or marching drum....

The marching strap eyelet is probably an add-on, and those two mysterious bolts are an unfortunate modification, I'm guessing, to fit a clip-style marching harness. Despite those mods, this drum was obviously very desirable for one buyer out there.

Should it prove to be genuine, no other example has ever been seen. Those holes aren't going to matter.

Very interesting drum. I would like to have a closer look, especially at the inside.

My only concern is that I have never seen Rogers use those longer lugs on a snare drum except for a marching drum. They used a double row of tom style beaver tails on their 8x15 Century which was a concert drum. While I have never seen an 8x15 Concert Model Dynasonic, I would assume it would have the same lug set up as the Century. But who knows.

From what I was told, it is real, and has never been taken apart. 1st gen beavertails, some damaged in the usual way.
