KD: sometimes getting started is the toughest part. I went back and read your original post in Jan, '13, kindly reposted by FFR428. I liked the detail Buckie put into his fix. So, your choices are: do nothing, keep it simple with gluing the seams, or tackling a more complete fix, as described by Buckie in Jan. Go for it!

Depending on the severity of the crack, I used the clear 3M packing tape solution suggested by tnsquint for a quick fix before a gig 3 years ago and it still looks good. It bothers me on the occasional "anal retentive perfectionist" days, but no one else even notices. And, you can always remove it if you decide to sell or go for a re-wrap later.
