Has anyone actually measured the thickness of a three ply kit? If you have one, and a micrometer, I think this would be very useful information. Seems to me it's quite hard to tell with Cleveland kits in the cross over period.

This is a late 50's (1959) Rogers bass, Jasper shell with original WMP wrap. Grey painted interior. It rings up at .213. Was just able to snake the micrometer through the tom mount hole. Not sure if this is what your looking for but FWIW.

Looks like a 1 inch mic, so 0.213".

Kevin good Q. There's really no exact fraction conversion for .213 but 10/47"@ .21276(59574) is about the closest. To break it down 7/32" is .218(75). And 1/4" is .250. So long story short it's a smidge less than 7/32" thick.

Happy to help. I'll do the other 2 shells later today to compare. Those are 1960-61 script shells with the same WMP and gray interiors.
