Any thoughts on what this 50's Rogers 5x14 Broadway snare is worth?

Not what GC is asking for it. If it is the same drum. Tried last year to get it for around 200. Wouldn't go that now. It is a 1954 OH made drum. Should have single flanged hoops with clips. Throw off arm should have a straight arm with no twist. Also I remember them telling me that it is cranked and ready to play but the lugs are cracked and you can see a space split on most of the lugs. If it was a Broadway model from 1955 it would sport an eagle badge. I like those early OH model typed Model paper internal tag drums with the olde NJ Rogers external Union badges. Early OH Covington drum. The start of it all in the OH scene.

Only reason I was interested in it was because of the same model in black that I found on the dfo a long time ago:

I think they wanted 325. They wouldn't budge into the low 200 range when the market was stronger too. Not worth that with wrong hard to find proper era parts not included. How much is it now for sale?

That's way out of line! Have to be careful when looking for a mahogany Rogers drum to re wrap. If it has a butt joint under a lug then it is already wrapped in a thin veneer. A piece of plastic wrap would make the heads fit tight and the drum won't tune well at all.

Cracked lugs. Wrong parts. 100-200 would be fair.

Haven't most drum companies used that style of hoop since the 40's?

The hoops on that snare are not correct, the picture Gary N provided are the correct hoops. I also agree with Gary N on the price.

So, I picked up the snare, the paper tag on the interior says Broadway model. Would this be a mahogany shell, what year?

Congrats! Glad it is in good hands and away from GC.

Was I right on guessing there is a butt joint under a lug for the outer mahog veneer? That is how the later 1950s Rogers snares are in mahog.

Rogers in the early OH years(early 50s) used the NJ Rogers Union, Three Star and Daisy Brand badges before the eagle landed in 1955. Your drum is a 1954 model.
