Rogers Holiday Fullerton, sept the kick drum is a Dayton; they're definitely 1969 not 70 correct?!

DON'T USE STEEL WOOL! There's a bunch of threads under the Restoration header on cleaning rust. Steel wool is considered more damaging than restoration. I picked up a similarly rusted Rogers set two years ago (24,12,13 & 20" FT), but haven't had the time or ambition to tackle the rust. Good luck on this project!

I Would have to believe that after more than three years, those drums are clean. Check the date on the posts from this thread.

Didn't see the posting dates and didn't realize this thread was so old, but no, those drums still aren't clean. Every other drum that enters the basement seems to get priority over these since I bought them just for the 20" FT.

The previous owner replaced the original Swivo tom mount with a Ludwig double tom clip mount, so between the extra holes, extensive rust, missing tom mufflers, and cracked wrap, I haven't considered these drums (1974 B-series Fullertons) worthy of the time. Even if I parted out drums (which I don't), no one would want these parts.

What to do, what to do...

So I've heard that in 1970 the Holiday name was switched to Powertone, which I thought was just the snares... So a Holiday Fullerton would definitely be 1969, or older if it was made in the Ohio factory correct?

Those drums are 1969-70, as stated above, and the Dayton is probably from 6-mos before. Which does not mean that they weren't delivered together.

A good auto wax from the auto parts store on the wrap, and Turtle Wax Chrome Polish on the hardware.
