ROGERS DYNASONIC WIRES Bridge makes a difference? Last viewed: 4 minutes ago

Loading...

Hey guys I just bought a 70s dynasonic that I had to do some restoration to . Overall it wasn't in to bad of condition for the 20 bucks that I got it for . The only thing that's missing from the snare is the FRAME AND WIRES Bridge, the snare sounds amazing already but I was wondering if the frame wires bridge makes a big difference in the sound of the snare ?

Yes it does make a huge difference. You will spend some coin getting it running but will be well worth it. Follow Tommy Ps set up instructions and you will be pleased. With parts u should still be under 200.00.

It makes a HUGE difference!! All the difference in the world. The Dynasonic has no snare beds on the bottom bearing edge and wasn't designed to have snare cords running across the reso head. To get the true, intended Dynasonic sound, you must have the snare bridge/frame. The frame allows you to adjust the tension or stretch of the snares (via a tension nut on the frame) independently of the pressure against the head (controled by the strainer). Research the Dynasonic online and you'll see what I'm referring to. Try to find a Dyna bridge in the near future. They pop up now and then.

If you can find a frame on ebay, Puresound makes replacement wires specifically for the Dynasonic:

I have a set of these on my 72' DYNA and it sounds as good as any other Dyna with 'original' snares. Just an option for you if you can't track down original wires. The frames do come up on ebay.

Biggggggggggggg difference. The snare frame is what makes a Dyna a Dyna. You got one for $20 wow killer deal. The frames are usually available on ebay I've seen them anywhere from $75 to $125. Puresound makes snare wires for them. There's also a frame that's new being made from the original mold available on the bay for $80.

Don't even bother to waste your money on the imitation frame sold by rhythm tech.

Get the real deal. About a hundred bucks with wires usually. And chances are really good, you will keep this drum.

I have purchased a number of items from Al Drews Music. I haven't purchased a frame from him as yet. Hard to believe with as many Dyna-Sonic snare drums as I own, its up to 12 or 13 now. Things are done the old school way there. Best call. The number is easy to find through google. You wont be disappointed.

Just remember ONLY, ONLY, >O N L Y< Genuine Rogers Dyna-Sonic wires, or Puresound Dyna-Sonic wires will work on this drum. Think about it. .... Snare head, standard wires are designed to throw the wires to the head, allow for the plates to somewhat float on the strings. On a Dyna-Sonic, the wires are held to the frame, and the frame floats to the head. The Dyna-Sonic wire plates are reversed from what are standard. That is the difference with this drum, and the reason ONLY wires designed for a Dyna-Sonic will work.

Dyna's have no snare beds! You have no choice but to use original or Puresound wires. Anything else will sound like crap on the drum and the purpose of the design is completely lost. If you're not going to replace the frame and wires, you may as well sell the drum to someone who will. Dynasonics are -great- snare drums when you set them up just right!
