Londoner V or Londoner VI?

90% of them are 14x20,8x12,9x13,16x16,with dyna snare..and they are either holiday or powertone drums .. they will be fullerton 9/72 tags

They will be great sounding drums, but you will notice some differences right off the bat. You are used to a lower, more mellow tone from the MIJ, the Gretsch like to tuned a bit higher and these will like to be hit hard. Rogers edges are the first of the big boys to go 45 and double 45, so the resonance will not be quite what you are used to with roundovers and 30s. They will sound good, no doubt, but different from what you are used to. One question to ask, if it has not been addressed, have the original edges been messed with or are they intact as factory cut? If they have been re-cut, that kills the resale.

thanks for your replies, seller knows nothing about drums, will be mystery bag, would have to buy site unseen, what sort of money for a better buy price$, drums on aussie ebay under vintage drums, which makes me curious that some one who claims they know nothing about drums would post them as vintage, i think there are few out there that are going to jump on these, like a complete 60s pearl attic treasure that went recently with original era paiste cymbals[name escapes me as i am writing this] but will have a go at the rogers.

My first professional kit was the Celebrity, in silver sparkle, purchased in 1972. Rogers was still making very good kits then, with good attention to detail. The drums just sang and I never had any tuning issues. I had those drums for 10 years.

As a side note, I ordered the kit with the matching wood-shell Dynasonic. The kit arrived with no snare drum, but I was able to drive to Fullerton to pick the snare drum up, as I don't live too far away. I was brought into the salesman's office and he went to get my drum. He brought in the COB Dynasonic and I explained I had ordered the wood-shell. He told me it would take about 6 months to build a wood-shell Dyna. Being an impatient 18 year old, I gladly left with the COB Dynasonic! Where's that crystal ball when you need it?!!!
