Gone to ebay...

A mid-60's Rogers Luxor in exceptional condition! Original paper tag says "Cleveland, 10727" I have the original snare wires. 20 strands and they're all there. There is a set of Puresounds on there now

Here's what I learned from the good people at drum forum . org, who are far more knowledgeable:

The rims and tension rods are correct. That is a Bantam strainer. Rogers used the same wood shell on Luxors, Towers and Powertones that they did on Dynasonics. Dynas just had the fruitwood stain on the interior instead of paint.

That serial makes it a late Cleveland or an early Dayton, maybe 1966 or 67, before the speckled paint came in. There were no Luxor tags printed with any other city except Cleveland.

All early Dayton drums still had the flat grey paint, until early 1967 I think. And all Luxor tags were Cleveland, from beginning to end.

It's sound is as impressive as its looks. The snares are new Puresound...unfortunately, I don't have the originals! New coated Ambassador.

Now at ebay... starting at $225
