Rogers Luxor Drum Set. Last viewed: 5 minutes ago

I uploaded some more pictures. No idea where they went!!!! Six bad snare lugs and two bad Tom lugs. Other four have no cracks. Rest of hardware is good. I see two alternatives on the shells. Repaint them as close as possible to original or buy a thin wrap glue it on with 3 m adhesive as suggested. I was not going to mess around with interior paint. I have nothing in the set right now. If I spend $100 on wrap and another $150 on lugs I will still be around $300 with chemicals and such.

I would think the set would still be worth $700???? With the Ludwig floor Tom??? What do you think?

I you need my help to post more pics simply send them to me and I'll post them here.

I think the $ on this score/find is in the Ludwig floor tom. Esp. if it is a 14x14 drum.

The Rogers snare drum, bass and tom just cleaned up should pull as much if not less than the floor tom if it is a 14" drum. Even if it is 16" then somebody out there must want to add it to their Ludwig set and should sell fast if priced fair and cleaned up well.

Are you ultimately planning to sell the drums?

I really don't see the final product worth $700. Sorry. :(

The wrap is not going to add much value to drums that were originally a duco finish. Plus, the tom tom is single headed without a cut bottom bearing edge, the bass drum is center lug single tension and the snare is six lug. The only lugs that fit the hole pattern are the Rogers "Bread and Butter" style currently on the Rogers drums. If you attempt to use the newer Rogers "Beavertail" style lugs, the holes in the shells need to be elongated.

If you plan to keep and play the drums, then you can do any of these things. But if your making the improvements to sell for a profit, then you'd be better off selling the drums, as they are now.

The Ludwig is a 14. Have not taken it apart yet. The paint on this one is really peeling badly. I'm just going to play around with the set and see what I come up with. Almost better off selling off the parts. All the rims and hardware cleaned up great. No rust or pitting at all.

The holes for the the BB lugs are 1 7/8" center to center. This is the same as for a dynasonic lug from that period.
