Rogers Powertone Snare-Good Deal? Last viewed: 5 hours ago

The drum pictured above appears to be in excellent condition, and original hardware. I cannot get enough clear definition on the Badge or the knobs to give a better date period.

I've got a 1973 SuperTen, pre-Big R. It's a great snare drum! Can be both sensitive and loud, depending on your needs!

From Fayray

I'm not sure the Powertone was made in the Big R period. More likely a steel Super Ten or a Dyna with no frame and replacement bottom hoop maybe. Nice drum and worth the asking price. This is one situation where a magnet test will work.

Never made a Powertone with 10 lugs is my first clue from the pic.

Looking again I guess there are lots of clues I missed. Superten was at least my first guess:)

I'd buy practically any vintage snare for $75! I owned a Superten once, nothing like a supra, let's face it, you can't beat a supra. But, they are nice drums and even if you don't like it, you could flip it and make a few extra bucks, Christmas is right around the corner.
