Rogers Powertone Snare manufacture date? Last viewed: 6 hours ago

Hi all

I have 2 really nice Power Tone snare drums & I am trying to figure out the year they were made.

The chrome one has a Fullerton CA label inside with serial number- 049996.

The SS one has a Dayton OH one with serial number- 17317.

Both these drums are in great shape too (see pics)

Based on the Rogers Dating Guide I've seen, I'd estimate the Dayton Powertone is circa 1967-68, and the Fullerton drum is circa 1971 or so. Perhaps a Rogers guru like Dan1C will weigh in.

Agree. That Dayton number is probably 1968 and the Fullerton 1970-71. Dan C or Ploughman can verify will a little more authority.

I thought Dayton's were more like 1966-67.......

Checked the dating guides. Apparently Powertones got Dayton tags through 1968, but the serial numbers ranged 18xxx-21xxx, so this one in question is probably 1967, not 1968.
