Rogers price check advice Please! Last viewed: 3 hours ago

I really like this kit and am contemplating offering a trade for a couple of my Ludwig kits. I have no idea if he will trade or not, but just checking his asking price for starters. I live a couple hours from his place, so I can easily drive up to see these before committing.

Thanks for your help.

Not being able to see the badges makes it impossible to date the drums.

But.... I think you are looking at pre 65 Clevelands, if that double mount is original.

Color+sizes+condition= a price reasonably close to what he is asking.

I should have clarified, he did state these are Dayton era in an email exchange. I also asked which wood snare model that is and he said 6 lug Powertone.

Thanks for the reply and all opinions and advice are welcome.

The snare would be a Luxor if it has 6 lugs. To me, it looks like an 8 lug Powertone in the photos. I would guess a Dayton era set.

Beautiful set. I've always been very fond of that wrap.

I also thought the snare looked like an 8 lug Powertone ( I hope). He said 6 lug Powertone, which didn't make sense.

Yes, he is a member and seems like a very nice person to deal with.

The Dayton era claws and rods on the bass drum say late Dayton. The top hat mount on the bass says Cleveland. So Ploughman has a point on the double tom mount.

That is one nice looking kit. I've only seen a picture of one similar kit that was blue onyx. They too were Dayton, but with the later version of the tom mount that first appears in the 67/68 catalog.

I stand corrected...it is an 8 lug Powertone. I guess I've been looking at too many 6 lug Pioneers and screwed up.

Set is also very mint. I believe you offered me a sky blue pearl super classic as trade. Pretty sure we both know that wouldn't work but like I told you, it never hurts to ask.

So drumfactory, is the mount on the front of the bass drum original to the kit? The late Dayton claws and rods coupled with that mount is interesting from a dating point of view.

Stunning looking set of drums.

Come to think of it, I think the blue onyx is actually an 18" bass.
