I am sure there is a way to determine the date of manufacture by the paper label, can someone shed me some light! Much appreciated, thanks.

Dayton on tag - mid 60's -'68

Hi, I've got an old Dynasonic. Serial # 1 7269

Can you tell me the year of manufacture?

Any other info? I'm in Australia.

I've got a Cleveland tag in one of the toms from my 1966 Headliner kit, with serial number 35xxx. Your drum should also be about the same year. While there's no direct way to know the year just by looking at the serial number, it helps when others have drums that they also know when the kit was purchased and can then correlate the serial number to the year.

We need a pic of the drum. There are no Cleveland tags in the 35xxx range from 1966. A Holiday series drum from that tag range would be 1963. And quite possibly should have Bread and Butter lugs. If I remember right, the transition was in the upper 38xxx.

Will post a couple pictures when I get home (Saturday). The kit (20,12,16)

has the Bread and Butter lugs. If I recall the 12" and the bass has the tag 38xxx, and the floor 34xxx. The brass powertone snare has one but can't remember the serial, but it is Dayton.

Thanks guy's! Gaining alot of knowledge on this forum!

So can I assume this was manufactured in '63? I am trying to determine the age, so I can get period correct T-rods and claws. Newbie to Rogers, and just need a kick in the right direction! Thanks everyone!

I appreciate your desire to learn, and your willingness to hunt for original period parts, but I still have no idea what the drum looks like.

1963 is the year of origin.
