Rogers R-360 COS Powertone Snare Drum Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Another of my many snare drums for sale! This is a really nice Rogers R-360 snare drum from about 1968-69. These were built by Yamaha. The shell was obtained with only the original muffler. From my parts stash, I installed early Fullerton lugs, tension rods and a Swivomatic strainer, along with a MIJ butt that fit the existing holes…and looks very close to the original! Generic hoops, a new set of Puresound wires and good used Evans heads. The drum looks like a Powertone, but with a steel shell. A really nice snare drum!

Asking $130 plus actual shipping to anywhere in the lower 48 States. PM if interested.

I must add to this ... I have BOTH models of the Rogers R-360 COS. The first one is one of the 1st runs built and features just about ALL Rogers parts and very little YAMAHA, right down to the nice Beavertail lugs and the original Rogers D-1 batter! What you have done with the build out on yours is very similar! The main departure is that Rogers originally installed a #393 Bantam strainer rather than the upper level Swivomatic that you put on ... otherwise, identical! These are KILLER sounding steel shell snare drums! I did a demo with mine that shows just how they play/sound. I always thought Rogers should have named these the SuperEight! It really mimics the SuperTen in sound quality, yet is more open with two less lugs. You have assembled a BEAUTY here Mark! BEST with your sale!

Tommyp!

Thanks for all the info regarding these "sleeper" snare drums! I'm aware that they did come with the Bantam strainer, but always thought even the first run of drums used the lugs you normally see. Had no idea they first used the Beavertails! I would have also thought the snare would have used an Ambassador and not a Diplomat batter. Very cool! Your drum is in incredible shape! I obtained my shell for cheap and just wanted to see how it would sound. Yes, you really can consider it a SuperEight!! It just sits in a box stashed away, so I hope it finds a new home with someone that will play it!
