Rogers Red Onyx Appraisal Last viewed: 2 hours ago

I have a Rogers Red Onyx kit (12-16-20 with matching 14 snare) that I would like to know how much it is worth in its current condition. This was the first kit I received back in middle school about 15 years ago. It wasn't close to collector quality when it came to me, but I would like to think I was as rough on my stuff as most teenagers are.

I have entertained the thought of restoring it myself, but it just insn't going to work out. I would rather pass it on to someone else who can put some life back into it, instead of it just sitting around collecting dust.

In the link below you will find lots of pictures of the different drums. I also have legs for the floor tom, spurs for the bass, and a swiv-o-matic arm for the tom. All have some pitting on the chrome. If there is anything else that it would be helpful to have more pictures of please let me know. Thanks for your help.

from the pictures i saw the condition and no pictures of hardware and it's condition this is just a ballpark maybe 600.00, alot of rust which will leave pitting looks like some bearing edge issues rash on the wrap and i did not see the collets but in your favor they are cleveland which are the best and it is a 4 piece with snare...

I think $400 is more like it for that kit "as is" and thats only because the snare is the least destroyed drum. Spray painted interior on the bass drum, missing bottom lugs on toms, bearing edges thrashed, wrap faded (and probably cracked in spots), rust galore, augmented and missing hardware, elongated holes from adding Slingerland lugs to the bass drum, missing badges, etc etc.

If you are looking to sell, Id sell that snare separate and donate the rest of the kit to someone looking to do a serious restoration project @ like $200-$250. Probably pull $300 out of the snare to the right buyer if you clean it up nice.

If sold as a set I don't see you getting more than $400 and that would have to be from a pretty hardcore restoration enthusiast. Lots of work there!

Thanks for you help guys. You are correct about there being some rough spots and fading on the wrap, but I don't see any cracks. I was able to look through a box off odds and ends and found another badge and the inlay for the bass hoop.

Here are some pictures of the hardware too. The spurs for the bass are rough, but the floor tom legs look to be mostly rust free.
