Found these on CL. Seller is asking $200. Seems a fair price to me, the condition appears ok. There is a noted blemish on the 13", aside that the wrap doesn't appear to have any fade, nor does it look to be coming off the shell. My main concern is lack of internal tone control on the 16" as well as the missing legs. The rims and tension rods I can get modern if need be. Think I should go for it? I don't have any Rogers in the collection yet.....

At this price I would buy, but only if I already had the hoops and the bass drum to complete the set.
Yea not having a bass drum is my hang up as well as not having period correct hoops. He had it listed for $225 or best offer. I offered $150 to which he replied that he needs what he paid for them which was $200. I'm interested but I'm not dead set. Figured I would see what everyone thought on here. Didn't wanna kick myself for letting a good deal go by.

I've been down this route a few times myself. It's tempting, but you have to consider that it's 200 bucks for something that you can just look at, unless you have the missing parts lying around. Otherwise you're going to be spending another couple of hundred just to get those two drums up and running. Then you have to find the matching bass drum in the correct size. Could take a while. I was stuck with a 3pc WFL for years. I could never find the floor tom in WMP so just sold the bass drum, rack tom and snare separately and i got about half of my cash back out of them. I swore that I'd never try build a set with orphan drums ever again! Just my 2 cents.
Rogers legs will run you about $50. But other round legs will fit in a pinch. Tone control prices vary but average is $40 ea. Red glass glitter sure is a beauty! Seems like a fair deal. I see flat grey paint and round washers = Cleveland/Dayton era.
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

I`d pass, Jay...Another deal is around the corner!!
Cheers

1971 Ludwig Classic Bowling Ball OBP 22-16-14-13

1980`s Ludwig Coliseum Piano Black 8x14 snare

1970`s John Grey Capri Aquamarine Sparkle 5x14 snare
1941 Ludwig & Ludwig Super 8x14 snare
I'd also pass on this deal considering the cost of acquiring the tone control, the hoops, the rods, new collet nose, and the FT legs (plus new heads!). Glenn's estimate of $50 for the FT legs is reasonable, although I've been looking for a set myself and can't find any going for less the $60-$75 on eBay. Then, even after investing in all those parts, you've still got to find a bass in Red Glitter and a swivo tom arm.
You definitely want to enter the Rogers owners club, but this deal poses way too high a price for membership.

Got to agree with the previous posts as well...I'd pass on these...UNLESS you already had the missing parts. I've been down this road before and I'm just as guilty of buying items like this as anyone. I've regretted it, due to how much those missing parts can cost!
