Hi Guys, what is a fair price for a re-wrapped dynasonic wood drum. Its all original except for the wrap, which is now blue onyx. I bought it for £430. Wondering if i should insure it, or whether its only worth what i paid for it. Thanks.

Pics or it never happened. They are important to any value assessment.

Open a photobucket.com account. Upload them there and post links here.

It's quite easy....

Right chaps, here goes

This should bring up pics of my drum.

Yes the drum has been re-wrapped with donated wrap, you can see drill holes in it, but is covered up by hoop and heads. Tight seam, and all original features as far as i can tell. Please can anyone give me more info as to value / age?????

I dont know what colour it was originally as i bought it like this. Is it worth re-wrapping again in antique WMP?

Cheers

General rule is...once it's rewrapped it's strictly a player's drum and will have little to zero interest on the collector market. So, I do not think you would hurt the value any by re-rewrapping it any finish of your choice. But I bet it does sound sweet-- irrespective of the non-original finish. Not sure of value-- the last one on ebay sold for over $1800, but it was all-original. A rewrapped one could maybe be as little as a quarter of the value (or even less?). Interesting to see if any Rogers experts will chime in on this...

Granted, a re-wrapped Dynasonic is worth much less than an undisturbed drum. Still, just having a wood-shell Dynasonic in excellent condition, without the original wrap, would still have quite allot of buyer appeal.

I think it is definitely worth what you paid. My opinion, if you set this on ebay, it would still pull over $1000 even as a rewrap. Nice drum.

Even if it is a re-wrap, it's nice score as someone told, IMO.

Hardware and shell is very fine!

Nice snare and enjoy it!!

$700 or so US. Probably on the money for a re-wrap - but you can't get that wrap anymore, so personally, I'd leave it unless you were dead keen to have it match a set. Beautiful drums, imo. Just a joy to play.
