I've never purchased a set of drums on the way to a gig, until yesterday. Lucky they were Rogers! The heads were rubbish. I did take RIMs, tools, etc and got them going for the gig. (Which was really good) The kick was great and I found the kit quite fast - I mean that it played quickly. I know heads are important in this equation, but I also rate drums in their action, just like pianos. Very different to the Yamaha RC kit I played with the same band last week. That kit has depth, but plays more slowly. Today in my studio, the Rogers have a ton of warmth. Still need to sort out suitable RIMS deployment (longjohn;-) but really - what amazes me is that despite there being almost no similarities between this kit and the Clevelands and Fullertons I own or have owned - I swear I hear Rogers all over the sound of this kit under close miking. This really sweet boom - it's a Rogers sound to me. Can't believe they put the tags in ALL the wrong panels. I am happy to have large holes facing me and the Big R foil facing the crowd. A rather famous drummer chatted with me after the gig and was fascinated by the kit. A very promising start to this partnership. PS the chrome on this kit (1981) is flawless. Great fun.

Very nice! Have never seen that color wrap before. If your going to use those rims, why don't you just get a double tom stand to hold both toms ? Or was that just how you rigged it for the gig ?
"I have never heard of Rogers"
and ten minutes later...."Those are the nicest sounding drums I have ever played."
Mojave Red was the color. Will that Yammy style post fit the bass drum receiver? I think the Rogers tom arm mount has the three holes too close for the Yammy style arms to work.

You are right. Longjohn has a part that should work. These drums sound great! Very happy with the decision. Partly my mothers fault. When I went to buy them, the house was called "Kenilworth" which is the name of the street I grew up on. The sale was off/on/off/on but finally went through . . .
There were Swivomatic adapters for the Memrilock receivers. David Drew may have some of those NOS pieces. The insert would go into the triple holder, then a Swivomatic hex would fit into that. I believe Swivomatic hex will work with the Yammy tom mount. Just another option.

I have some of those adapters if anyone needs pics or measurements.
They are simply aluminum (I think) cylinders with a hole that fits the hex rod. There is a recessed set screw that holds against one of the flats of the hex rod.
They would probably be pretty easy to reproduce for someone with access to a machine shop.

Handy info - thanks.
I had a great little casual meet with member longjohn yesterday. He very nicely sold me a gretsch adapter which I'm mucking around with now. I use RIMS on all my drums and it's the usual period of finding the best way of doing this and still preserve the drums - and not wreck the look completely. I will probably use DW type mounts by Gibraltar. Good info though thanks.
