I've had this snare for many years and until recently via this sight, I knew little about. Per research I have determined it being a

XP10 14x8 Maple Dyna-sonic Thumb-wheel lock Big R Serial# D108542

If anyone can help verify it's authenticity and possible value, it would be much appreciated.

Genuine. If you have done research, then you have found my article on the Big R Period and these particular drums.

The 8 inch drum in excellent condition should not be sold for less than 500. Value would be between 500 and 700 at auction with motivated bidders.

I wonder if the Big R badge is the biggest drum badge ever made?

Something about these extra deep snares turn me off looks wise, however I bet they sound awesome! I don't judge a drum by it's 'cover' :D
