Rogers XP8 shell stained Last viewed: 1 hour ago

I have a Rogers XP8 kit I've been working on getting into playing shape. A couple of the shells have some staining on the interior that looks like it may be mold. I took one of the drums outside and sprayed a bleach/water mixture on it and scrubbed it a bit but it didn't seem to make much of a difference. Any tips on how to remove this?

I had the same problem.

There's no finish on the inside of the shells so you can take some fine sandpaper or a sanding block and see if you can get it off.

Afterwards, wipe down the interiors with this stuff.

I get it at Home Depot.

Thanks for the tip! I wanted to wait to respond until I tried it. I thought about sanding the shell before but wasn't sure if sanding was a good idea. After your suggestion I went for it and it seems to have worked. I haven't applied the product you suggested yet because I want to make sure the spots don't come back first.

The wax sealer will keep it from coming back.

Also, you can soak the lug screws in some citric acid (aka sour salt) from the health food store and it will take that grey oxidation right off.
