Round Badge Gretsch Bass Drum Lug Question Last viewed: 7 hours ago

Loading...

Im looking at picking up a 3 ply progressive jazz 4x14 snare in midnight blue pearl and a bass drum along with it (matching). The seller says that the bass drum is a 22, but it only has 8 lugs. Does anyone know if that is legit? I thought 20 inchers had 8 and 22s had 10?

The bass drum might be 3 ply as well. They came together as a set (supposedly) and they are in what looks like killer condition. If everything is as it should be, what would you say is a fair price for the pair?

Thanks,

Adam

I have a 58 Anniversary Sparkle bass drum, its a 22" and has 8 lugs per side,

i also have a WMP round badge from circa 1970 also a 22" and also eight lugs per side.

I think the 3 ply 22"s are some of the best bass drums ever made, super warm but still have a good punch!

Just got some pics of the bass drum. It is in nice shape with the exception of what looks like duct tape on one of the hoops...inlay all seems to be there. It is a virgin except for the Pratt muffler and spurs, which is pretty sweet/unexpected. Im considering making a move on this one. The asking price is a little more than I think they are worth considering Ill have to find a 13 and a 16 to go with them...and finding matching 3 ply drums that have faded equally (which is little to none at all based on the pics) will be a major headache.

Hmmm. Thinkin about it. Thanks for the help guys. Any more advice would be appreciated.

if it helps I have some original Gretsch Mid nite Blue Pearl wrap for inlays!

email me at: "][email protected]

I think a clean correct 4x14 in that color is worth $750 alone or more even in todays economy.
