My chance to wave the maple leaf.

Rush has FINALLY been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

LOOOOONG overdue.

Now if they can just get around to inducting KISS, they'll be on the track.

60's Sonor Teardrops & 70s Premier AMs
Sabian
Vic Firth
Remo/Evans

They're Canadien, of course they will and did show. Gracious speeches and a sly middle finger if you understand the context....

I will definitely catch it on HBO. I look forward to that show every year, actually, especially seeing the various acts jam together.

I guess it is lose/lose for Rush. If they don't show, they get "Axl Rosed", and if they do show, hacks like me imply they are sellouts. At the end of the day, they chose the classy path, which is one of their most attractive qualities as a "famous" band, and did the right thing.

As far as the other thing, haven't been in the 'Burgh a single minute to ship it out. I am hoping not to have to decide to go to Jazz Fest this year/or not, and being home plenty before that........DOH

Being Canadian, I am happy for the band. Funny enough, I'm not really even a fan. Not my style or taste, but I totally respect and acknowledge RUSH and each individual member as phenomenal musicians. They have been creating and performing for over 45 years! They are true professionals....no drama...no bad press, and have maintained the original lineup. Certainly not easy in the rock n' roll business. Anybody who thinks this band is anything other than that, is simply ignorant......

Being American, I agree with TheSoundofFreedom. I was a fan back in high school when their first live album came out and really enjoyed seeing them live a couple of times. They play what they want and in the process have inspired a generation of progressive rock musicians. Their massive impact on that genre, the fact that they have successfully maintained their careers for this long and having sold "several" albums over the course of that history is what a Hall of Fame should be about. These guys that think they are too cool for that kind of adulation drive me nuts. When someone thanks you, applauds a performance or bestows an award upon you they are giving you a gift. What do we call people that turn up their noses when people are offering a gift: rude.
