I have one that I tried on a snare or two.
They perform similarly to a stick saver hoop, as far as having a great cross-stick sound and not chewing up sticks that hit the rim.
The other benefit they have is that since the rim goes in even further and lower, they protect the top bearing edge from stray hits a little better.
I seldom strike the rim by accident; my snare head wear pattern is just a couple of inches in diameter in the center.
The chrome plating seems very good.
To me, it's a well-made hoop with a great cross-stick sound. Fun to try different and new things.
