Too high, IMO. Prolly 750, and that is ridiculous! Hell, 500 is too much for MIJ drums.
Saw these La Boz drums listed on Ebay today Last viewed: 1 hour ago

That's what I told myself but I shelled out 5 bills for those Astro drums I posted in another thread. I had the opportunity to completely inspect the drums first though, and play them, so I made my decision based on condition, visual appeal and sound.
But I still agree that $500 is pricey for any MIJ set.
Cheers,
Ryan

Well, I am not saying there are not some instances where it is not warranted, it's just I am a cheap a$$. And for $500, you can get a decent Slingerland or even a Rogers kit these days. Of course it would not have a really cool wrap, but the resale for these will be almost impossible to recover anytime in the even distant future. Just sayin'...

I paid in the mid $300's for my Whitehall kit, but besides being in great condition it came with a throne, snare stand, high hat and three paiste stanople cymbals - I am using the 16" crash, the 14" hats are paper thin and pretty beat up. Also a vintage Whitehall cymbal that I think is made of layered tinfoil spray painted a brass color...

I don't know Jonni, they are pretty unique look wise, appear to be in exceptional, original condition and complete. If people are bidding it past $500 in this economy then there's no reason the same won't happen when/if they tried to sell them in the future. And besides, to some people the resale may not be important. We all buy stuff that we want/need but will ultimately depreciate in value - cars, stereos, tvs, toasters, modern drums...
Well, I checked in Ebay and they sold today for $676! That sure seems like a lot of dough, even though they were cool....
....wow...that is just mind boggling to me. And the winner was a freakin' sniper! What a sad thing, two guys duked it out for days, that this jerk pops in at the last second, unbelievable. I am one of the proponents of keeping these drums free of ridiculous, unwarranted upward market pressure. I understand it is a 100% complete, all original kit in a rare wrap color, but almost $700.00? I just can't see it. Someone wanted them badly enough to spend Slingerland/Rogers money on them. Wow, hope they really sound great.
