Selling snare collection 9 total (Ludwig, Slingerland, Pearl, DW, Custom) Last viewed: 5 hours ago

I’m selling a substantial chunk of snares from my collection. I am planning to keep at least a couple of these so if you really want one, act quickly.

All listed prices are PPG/shipped lower 48 USA for forum members. Please add 3% for PayPal.

1966 Slingerland Maple student model WMP 3 ply 6 lug snare. Drum appears to be entirely original (minus heads of course). I’ve owned it a good number of years and it’s developed a nice yellow coloring. Sounds like a million bucks. Super open with a nice pop to it. Bearing edges are pretty darn clean and it tunes up quick and easy. $180

5x14 Ludwig 7 ply classic maple snare drum w/ die cast hoops and p86 strainer, 10 lugs (includes Ludwig hardshell case). Sounds great. Incredibly easy to tune. The hoops and hardware have some minor pitting and the throw has some rust (see pics). Overall, she is solid and has that classic Ludwig maple snare sound. $275

custom built 7x14 birch ply snare with inner and outer plies of African Wenge. Aluminum billet lugs, 14 ply maple hoops, Ludwig p86 throw off, and puresound wires. Almost brand new Remo ambassador snare heads. The drum is truly a unique, fantastic sounding drum. You won’t be able to find another like it. Was $250, now $225

Late to the party is my 6.5x14 Ludwig LM402 supraphonic from the early 80's. Chicago badge and bowtie lugs point to this being from one of the last batches before the move to Monroe. The drum was a supersensitive that now lives as a supra. Has a couple extra holes as a result There is some standard pitting and flaking, but I've definitely seen worse. Looking for $240

THE FOLLOWING HAVE SOLD:

[COLOR="Silver"]1996 Ludwig Black Beauty lb417 6.5x14 snare. Drum is in very good playable condition. Definitely not showroom condition, but it’s solid. There are a few scratches on the shell as well as some minor pitting and rusting on the hardware (see photos). Drum sounds incredible - $old

Pearl ultracast 6.5 x 14 project snare. Only the shell and throw off included. Needs lugs, hoops, and heads. I bought this planning to get some chrome hardware for it. I got as far as the strainer (throw off) and butt plate. These came from a Pearl free floating snare - $old

DW nickel over brass 6.5x14 snare with satin hardware. The drum is a couple years old and has minimal playing time on her. She’s mint and in “like new” condition except for one little piece where the satin has pealed off the bottom hoop - $old

1965 Ludwig acrolite lm404 5x14 snare. This baby also appears to be all original. Minor rusting and some minor scratches but overall the drum is pretty clean for being 50 years old. - $old

DW 5.5x14 Titanium snare with black nickel hardware. I confirmed with DW that this early prototype is in fact a Dunnett shell. She has some scratching on the hardware but is functionally solid. Sounds great, surprisingly loud. Truly a great rock snare. Sounds huge low or popping tuned up high. $old

Pearl Omar Hakim custom 5x13 mahogany snare. I’ve owned this at least 10 years and it’s been a great drum. Sounds great low or high (but really shines in medium to high tunings). Some minor pitting around the hardware but functionally solid. Brand new batter head. Was $225, now $old

Mid 2000's Ludwig LM402 Aluminum 6.5x14 snare. Like new condition (I know that's a lofty statement but there isn't a scratch on it). These are one of the most popular, most recorded, most sought after snare drums for a reason. They're incredibly easy to tune and sound great in most situations. - $325 (no longer available. I've decided to keep this one)
