JohnRing got kicked off the DFO, twice. Might have something to do with all this.

A bad reputation is hard to overcome. Best not to get one in the first place.

I don't know "Johnny Ringo", but from what I've heard from others, I wouldn't deal wiith him, just to be on the safe side. Maybe that's not fair to him, but I don't need to take the risk.

My kit:
Ludwig Vistalite Big Beat set consisting of:
14” X 22” bass, 16” X 16” floor tom, 8” X 12” ride tom, 9” X 13” ride tom, 5” X 14” snare
Ludwig 201 Speed King bass drum pedal
Ludwig 1124 Spur-lok hit-hat with Ludwig Standard Paiste 14” cymbals (760 & 770 gr) with ching-ring
Two Ludwig Standard S-270 cymbals stands
18” Zildjian crash cymbal (1550 gr) and 20” Zildjian ride cymbal (2130 gr) with CAMCO sizzler
Gibraltar motorcycle seat-style drum throne with backrest

No offense brother, but it's common knowledge. Word travels quickly amongst the anonymity of the internet. You also have rustled a few feathers here.

I agree with the reputation part, but I don't have a comment about buying anything from Johnny, as I haven't bought anything from him yet and I believe a person's reputation differs from person to person for the most part.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

For the record, I have never had anyone complain about merchandise I've sold, so whoever is telling you that is a liar or just misinformed. My quarrels with others have been political or just things I didn't agree with on certain subjects, never about things I sold.

Your disagreeable posts are mainly the problem.

You have in the past, jumped in many Forum member's for sale threads with negative opinions about asking price and self-serving comparisons to your own failed sales attempts here.

Personally, you sent me a minimum of three childish PMs after I turned you down on a low-ball offer on a re-wrapped Slingerland outfit that didn't sell for my asking price on eBay.......sarcastically telling me; "I should have taken your offer, and you'd never offer that much again, and I'd never sell them to anyone".

BTW, they sold through Clist two weeks later for $50 more than the eBay auction, and no eBay/PayPal fees or shipping hassles to boot.

You've blown it for yourself around here, you're out of excuses, rationalizations and justifications.

If you cut out the crap, maybe some of the newer folks around here will deal with you?

But there are many us that here that have witnessed your junk in the past.......you are stale toast with us.... too late pal.

I've both bought and sold on VDF - mostly small parts and one snare transaction. I've noticed that your listings are typically drum sets. I'll bet if you re-word the question "Anybody regularly buy and sell full sets here?" the number would be much smaller. In the event of a problem, it's no big deal to eat a snare-sized $15 shipping charge. I'd never buy a high priced full set based on pictures alone.

Really? Junk? My offer to you was more than fair considering the drums were re-wrapped, if you sold them for more than your ebay auction, great, there's always a sucker out there and you took advantage of them. Nothing wrong with that I suppose, but I'll bet the guy will be kicking himself if he tries to re-sell them and loses money on the deal.

Oh and btw, I have a ton of very nice vintage Ludwig and Rogers snare drums I was going to sell here to give one of you guys a shot at them before going on ebay, but since I'm "toast" I may reconsider. Look, I don't really care what you think of me on a personal level, but I can provide some very nice vintage drums at a reasonable price, I suggest you consider taking advantage of them.
