I finally received my new (to me) Geo Way drums. I knew going into the deal that the 16" drum was a question mark. The 22/13 and matching snare appear to be wearing the original duco paint. They're in great shape!
So the 16"...the badge looks like the real deal, but the grommet is a different color from the grommets on the other three drums. The drum has all Geo Way lugs (with plugs) and COB rolled hoops. (These 16" hoops are HEAVY) The drum obviously has a DIY paint job that I was considering having redone (as seen in my previous post about duco paint), but I don't know if the shell is worthy of the investment.
I don't know what this shell is. It appears to be drilled for Geo Way/Camco lugs and leg mounts. There used to be a tone control on the drum and the holes were filled. One section of the interior near the batter side reinforcement ring almost looks like it had white paint at one time, but to me the rest of the interior looks too clean to have been painted white. Is it possible to remove white paint this thoroughly? As for the ply layup, it looks like three plies to me, maybe four? I suck at identifying types of wood so I won't even hazard a guess with that. I measured the reinforcement ring if that helps.
I suspect this might actually be a Camco floor tom that once had a tone control. The drum came with Camco leg mounts as I believe Geo Way floor toms all had brackets to hold floor tom legs. Did Camco floor tom leg mounts have the same hole spacing as Geo Way and early Camco leg brackets? I don't see any other extra holes in the shell other than where the tone control was.

Thanks for looking.
