Shipping on Ebay Last viewed: 5 minutes ago

From slingerland

Those flat rate boxes are really small, unless you have a box of nails, or a grommet, not much fits in those usps priority Flate rate boxes.......

I have shipped Lugs, strainers, t rods, mufflers, butt ends, tom mounts and all sorts of parts in the small box w/bubble wrap and peanuts.

In fact I just sold those 16 Lg beavertail lugs with mounting hardware, a complete radio king bass hoop tom mount, 6 streamline lugs and 5 radio king tension rods all in the small flat rate box. Bubble wrapped so no parts were banging around.

Its like tetris! :)

How the F did you fit all that in a small FR box?

And bubble wrap on top of that?

Thanks for that BBK..you learn something new everyday..I will tell people that now if they cry at how much Priority is in comparison..

No problem, learned that the hard way. Dad always said to learn from others mistakes.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

I had to take apart the tom mount and slide it between the lugs. I hardy every have to do that though. Unless its a drum shell or drum hoops I'm shippin flat rate small all the way.

No room for protection that way....USPS would NOT honor a damage claim if sent that way,I'm sure...

I would be upset if someone sent me that much gear jammed into a small FR box...I would feel that: they couldn't take the time to do a professional job?

Sure could have got damaged easily!

I even feel that people don't give a s&^T when they pack that way,and are greedy! Just me,I know though...

I just shipped 16 sm Beavertail lugs, and used a strong box quite a bit bigger then the bubble wrapped lugs, lined the box again with strong cardboard..surrounded with packing popcorn..lots of tape...

Which way would you rather get the parts?

Off the Soap BoxSoap Box now...

If it can be shipped safely with the appropriate amount of bubble wrap and peanuts, then I don't see a problem fitting them in a smaller box. If someone just throws parts in without any protection yeah I would have a problem with that for sure.

Greed? That's reserved for sellers who advertise a shipping price and don't refund the differences when actual cost is lower than expected. By show of hands how many here have done that?

The way I see it sellers can either bet on the 5% chance something goes wrong or the 95% chance everything goes smooth. And when that 5% does come around, appropriate return policies are in place and negative feedback can be left if necessary.

Back to the point though, sellers need to figure out the best way to ship items to their customers. I choose flat rate priority mail because it eliminates shipping "quotes", it arrives quickly (even internationally) is insurable/buyers protection safe, and lastly I can jump on eBay and list an item without thinking about the weight/cost and avoid the crazy buyers slingerland ran into. It leaves very little liability on my end when all these components work together.

***And also I made a huge mistake...lol I shipped 10 Streamline Lugs, Complete Radio King Tom mount and some long tension rods in a flat rate box. Much more possible than lg beavertail lol sorry all. my bad DOH But that's still a significant amount of hardware in a small box.
