Hey all.

Newbie here. I have someone interested in a standard size slingy I'm selling 22/16/14/13/12 with hi hat, snare stand, bd pedal, and straight cym stand.

Question 1 -Does anyone know roughly what this would cost to ship to Germany. Also thoughts on insurance?

Question 2- Wrapping, boxes suggestions. Don't want to break the guys heart and my own if something happens.

I've never shipped an entire kit to Germany, but have snare drums and High dollar Guitars, the USPS is the only way that I used, with the size box you'll need to ship in, they may not ship it do to size constraints. I always pack a shipment as if it were coming to myself in other words more is better than less! and when completing the customs forum, don't lie, don't put it as a gift! mark it as merchandise. you could be liable for customs and Import fees filed as a gift.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

Can ship everything to him but the bass drum I believe. It has been awhile since I tried this, but I agree on the size of bass. A 22" typically has to be in a box at least 26" to have the 2" (at least) for padding or bubble wrap. If I recall, that puts it over the size restrictions. You can go to USPS website, and plug in all the dimensions as well as weight, and it will kick you the price. Please also beware that if you ship anything international and they want you to place a smaller amount on the customs form (so they don't have to pay so much taxes and fee's), the amount you choose to place on the item/items is the most you will receive in case of a damaged or lost item. I highly recommend that you place insurance on all the items also....so you are covered. Not that huge increase in the shipping cost, but well worth it in the long run.

Have you thought about selling these in the US? Possibly you could find a good home for them right here in the good ole USA!

Just declined a deal to ship a snare to Australia- 16x16x11 box would have been over $100 from US thanks to another rate increase.

Make sure you use accurate box sizes and weight for quoting before committing to ship...
