MikeL has been a real good friend to me for a couple of years now. Mike is one of those guys that doesn't like to be 'in the spot-light', he works behind the scenes, almost anonymously he's so quiet about it. Mike Layton has helped so many people out with leads on instruments, advice, an impressive knowledge of vintage drums, especially old Ludwigs, and he's just one of the most generous and warm guys you'll ever hope to meet in life. A genuine, dyed-in-the-wool, good guy.
If it wasn't for, Mike, I wouldn't have my prized possession, a pre-serial Sky-Blue-Pearl JazzFest from 1963 to complete my pre-serial SBP Hollywood kit. Drums that I play and thoroughly enjoy each-and-every day.
So, Thanks, Mike! This bud's for you! Yes Sir
