Randy,

Thanks very much for posting that video and providing the extra information. That was very helpful! Looks like I have a new project and one that my wife can be excited about too :).

The drum room at my house is just an extra side room, that me and my roommate have dubbed Ishmael. (bonus points to the person who gets the joke) This extra room kinda bleeds into my bedroom as I have WAY to many drums for a house as small as I live in.

Pic 1 is the hemorrhaging into my bed room, highlights include a 28 inch slingy bass drum, and some MIT junk kit I started my drumming career on.

Pic 2 the 5 ply Slings in Ishmael, awesome sound dampening carpet and cardboard line the walls. Floor tom corner over there in the back lol

Pic 3 Drivers seat view, guitar amps, snares and miscellanea in the corner

That is my drum room(s)

The room was christened that before the white bass drum but that is indeed the reference haha.

The story goes like this-

About 2 years ago me and my best friend Carl moved into this house and we have that extra side room. Carl says "we need to do think of a name for this room... What should we call you" Without even thinking or breaking stride moving a bass drum in I go "They call me Ishmael" and voila it stuck haha

We've finally completed our new house. This is one of my new drum rooms. I've got two more (of sorts) - a nice workshop for the dirtier stuff and a display area for a single kit to be set up and rotated through each month. This room is my main one. It allows me a quiet place (larph) to practice and study the instruments. It also houses most of my stuff. Most of the acoustic drums are on racks and the electronic stuff (Roland Handsonic 15 and such, amps, etc.) is in cases for ready access out the door.

NICE ROOM!

How are the acoustics? Do you have reflection?

Thank you. The room is very warm. There is a lot of wood in the room. Not a bad thing. I currently have two kits set up in there - the 76 Slingerland Maple kit and the 65 Rogers Red Glass Jazz kit. They both sound nice in there. My wife says the room is loud, but I don't hear it that way. It's got a natural warmth to it. It really like this one.

HA!

If I look at drums my wife says it's too loud! Opposites attract I suppose.
