Here's my 71 Slingerland Buddy Rich Outfit No. 80N Lacquer Mahogany finish.

Nice hardware package and a Krupa COB just for giggles.

Here's my 65 Rogers Buddy Rich "Headliner" No. 2806-Outfit in Sparkling Red Pearl.

It has the optional 14x14 Floor Tom and the matching Powertone snare.

Nice hardware package and a COB Powertone snare 'cause it was there.

Mark, both of those kits are stunning!

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

Completely forgot about my very first BR kit! Yep, that's me... with nice thick hair and a small waist, circa early 80's. As you can see, I added a set of 4 Slingerland concert toms... 10, 12, 13, 14. I LOVED that kit!

Talk about forgetful! This Rogers Celebrity was actually my first BR kit. Purchased in 1972 at Drum City, Hollywood. I had a COB Dynasonic, but you can see that I was using my COB 12-lug Slingerland Spitfire at the time. The second floor tom, which you can barely see, was built by Al Blaemire. I lived fairly close to Al and had been to his garage many times to see his custom fiberglass drum operation.

I had the Celebrity kit until 1982, sold it and purchased the Slingerland kit. Hard to believe I've had 4 BR kits!!

Mark,

Are both of those 80N basses missing the second (driver side) left 599 shell mount cymbal holders? I don't see them in the pics. Did you remove them?

Love your kit! Especially all the rivets in the ride and that very cool and funky splash cymbal!

RogerSling, while you can't see the 599 mount on the red sparkle bass drum, it is there and you can clearly see the cymbal arm. A picture is attached showing it.

You are correct that there was no 599 mount on the WMP kit. I built this kit from separate shells, although the bass, rack tom and first floor tom were all from the same kit. I wrapped the shells in WMP from Sam Barnard. The holes for the 599 mount for the splash cymbal were there, but I didn't drill for it at the time, as I didn't have an extra mount. Ended up selling the kit before I found a mount.
