yes,those bare lugs can be converted by installing the guts from a full lug. i just figured the guts would be hard to find alone. ive know several drummers that have enjoyed the sound of the single tension setup. might wanna try it first...

I think the single tension lugs have a different design inside so that you cannot put inserts in?

I converted a tom once can't remember if I swapped out the lugs or added the necessary parts, But Blair maybe correct just don't remember.

I don't think the single tension lugs have built up walls to hold the inserts in place that the separate tension lugs have....

+1 - Can't be done because of the reason Blair gave. If you want to go dbl. tension, you need a new set of lugs, claws & T-rods.
