Sling 20" floor tom how rare? Last viewed: 1 hour ago
I recently found a 20" 70 sling floor tom to add to my collection in WMP, does anyone know how rare this tom might be, I never saw a 20" before....
Here's one on craigslist: http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/msg/2454359787.html
I'll tell you what is rare, try finding some 6/8"toms in MWP.........I'll give an award to whoever comes up with those........seems like small toms are non existant

Well, the 20 inch Slingerland floor is easily visible in the catalogs, but not so visible in the marketplace.....:)
I have a 20" Slingy FT if someone needs one...(missing one hoop though)

Nice is that your set? wonder why they went from a 16-20 and omitted the 18
Thank you !
Yes this is mine .
This kit (Avante Outfit No.60N) came with tom tom size :12" 13" 14" 16" , the 20" was added to the kit by the original owner who was a Led Zepplin (Bonnam) fan
Yes, almost impossible to find, and when you do see one they are almost always a concert style tom. The Slingerland and Ludwig floor toms in the 20" size are not rare at all. I believe both companies had sets/kits that came with the 20s as a standard, sometimes eliminating the 18 or the 16 or both and just had the one floor tom in 20" size with concert toms covering the 16" range. Whats rare is a 20" Camco floor tom, you could only get one by special order. Or 8 and 10" toms. I personally love the sound of the Ludwig 10"s, especially the 10" Stainless Steel tom from the 70s. Those two S.S. rack toms, the 8 and 10" have a range and projection maple could never match.
Slingerland and Ludwig 20" FT's "are not rare at all"?
How many have you owned?
I don't think I have ever had one in almost 25 YEARS of collecting........
