Here is a super-promising 2/3rds of a vintage Slingerland bop kit... Blue Sparkle 8x12, and an ultra-virgin 3-ply 14x18 that is truly a blank canvas... The pictures tell the story, but the "history" is below...

PHOTOS

$500 shipped. (No trades please.)

14x18: This drum began its life as a single-headed "baritone tymp-tom". The only parts attached were two mounting brackets... The four holes are on the ABSOLUTE BOTTOM of the drum, and they were plugged and capped with blue sparkle. Lugs were obviously added, as well as brand-new hoops from Precision, painted and inlayed. One very stable crack in the wrap, secured, also on the bottom of the drum.

NO spurs, NO tom mount. Build the vintage bop kick of your dreams! (How often can you do that!?) Or, keep it light and add an anchor or hoop-spurs... Or leave a little wiggle in the drum and hold it still with your burlier modern pedal (it works!).

8x12: This is a great sounding 80's artist series tom - no mods. This series used the same great 3-ply Sling shells WITHOUT the re-rings... The speckled interior and Pearl-inspired tom mount are both the norm for this series, but it matches the kick perfectly, and the thin shell sings.

Have some different heads on the kit than what's in the photos...
