Hi - I'm looking for a Slingerland '70s vintage 12" tom and possibly a 14" or 18" floor tom to add to my existing Slingerland blue agate (onyx) pearl set. I'd prefer the same wrap but could be anything in good shape I could re-wrap to match.

What shell are you looking for a 3 ply with rings or 5 ply with-out ring's..Mikey
My existing set is 3 ply with re-rings so I'd prefer to match. Let me know if you have something for sale that might be of interest. Thanks.
I also have a 13" blue agate pearl tom in good condition I could trade (since I now have 2 13" toms). I will sell that one once I locate a 12".
Update: I won a 12" tom on ebay which I will re-wrap. I'm still looking for a 14" floor tom.
Update: Finally got the 12" tom from ebay and it's probably not going to work as a re-wrap (not as advertised at all), so I'm back to looking for both the 12" and 14" (floor) toms - if anyone has one for sale please reply or PM. Thanks!!
I still have the 12" 5 ply with-out ring's just the shell..Mikey

Are you saying you have a blue agate Pearl tom? I don't know that Pearl used this wrap, but I am certain Star did. Pearls wraps were called Blue Oyster and Blue Grain, not a match at all, but I guess similar. Star was a pretty close match to the Slingerland blue agate, since they emulated Slingerland in many of their designs in the 60s and early 70s. Star indeed had a wraps called Agate, in blue, red, green and black/white, and they look like Slingerland wraps. They are not a perfect match, but close enough that to the layman's eye, they would not really notice the mismatch.
I might be interested, if your price is in-line with Star/Pearl prices.

I have a 12 and a 14, with original mounts, no extra holes, and white wrap. Both are missing a hoop, and one set of t rods. Because they have spent time with no hoops on the bottoms (the '70s were hard on drums), the bearing edges need help. They each have a big nick out of them that would need filler of some sort. $35 each?I will Email photos if your'e serious. Thanks, -Lon
