Can any one tell me why this snare drum lower hoop slot for the snare tension strings are so small, I bought this snare use and it does not have the correct heads on it , I believe because the tension strings are compressed down when the head is tighten , it has Remo head on it now , it is a April 7 1959 Blue and White Slingerland Snare drum . Also is it norm for this drum to have the bearing edge curve were the snare strings go threw the hoop?
I think some one put 1960 heads on it and that is why the tension strings are clamped down. I would like to know if or where I can buy the correct heads and will that fix this problem?
The Slots for the tension strings are very small and thin, compared to the new drums. Please email me or send me and answer if you any one knows. Thanks.
