rare was a poor choice of words I admit DOH

by "rare" I meant I dont see many kits for sale, and yes there are individual drums on the 'bay but last time I looked I did not see a whole kit.

well Im hoping to buy it for cheap! As you noted it does have the floor tom, but I do not see a snare.

Shawn,

From what I see, I agree with DaSwans. Definately Chrome-over-wood; the goldish color is just picking up reflection of surroundings.

They look to be in good shape, but unfortunately not all that "desirable" as far as collecting is concerned. So, it'll just boil down to how much he wants...

thanks Bill, Im hoping for less then $500 for everything.

I can sell the hi-hats and a throne to a buddy right off the bat.

I could gig this season with this kit as well and save my Ludwigs for home and recording use, that way they dont get banged up.

Hey Shawn,

How's the Supra doing?

If you can get all of that for less than $500, already have a buyer for the hats, AND plan on using the rest yourself, go for it! I don't think you'd be disappointed at all!

Keep me posted, OK?

Bill,

I freaking LOVE the supra!

I slapped heads and snares on it and tuned er up and it is EXACTLY what I was wanting!!!

Thanks again for the trade :)

You still have Bertha the Marching Snare or has she moved on?

And yes, if I can score all that for $500 or less Im gonna do it. The only bear of it is, its in Michigan....no Blair Im not telling you where :p

Yeah, I've still got her.

She's probably going to be up for sale sooner or later, just like (just about) everything I get my hands on does... or at the very least very good trade "bate" for something I can use on a project!

Glad you like it -- I knew you would.

Hey, I just located another one at a school, and the band director said it was left by a former student (unkown at that). This one's probably out of the 90s, as it has the "Monroe" keystone badge. Missing some parts and the snare side head is "bashed" out, but will be a good drum when repaired. Don't know if I'll be able to get it or not...

Another Supra. I will admit that when I start dealing with the Monroe drums I'm out of my element a little. A LOT to learn on my part...

As for marchers... yeah, I've got plenty of them and always seem to find more...

Chrome Slingerland snare drums from that era are plentiful. Chrome over wood Slinbgerland snare drums are not quite so plentiful.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.
