I'm looking for a Slingy bass drum, 24" or 26" to restore/rewrap. Prefere 3 ply but will consider 6 ply too. Prefere complete drum but will consider shell or incomplete project drum. This is going to be for my dad's '61 Slingerland WMP kit (13", 16" toms, 5x14 Clamshell & "used" 22" WFL) I'm restoring for him. He's been gigging with this same kit since he bought'em brand new in '61. As you can imagin, they are hurt'in pretty bad after being set-up, packed & tranported 2-4 times a month for 45 straight years! The 50's WFL WMP bass drum he's been using with his kit is pretty wasted, so I want to replace it so that his kit will at least now be all Slinglerlands, or at least look like a Slingerland. Like I said, it's dad's player's set, so I'm not really concerned about the bass drum having to be period correct. That would be a bonous if I could aquire one at the right price, though!
