When I get to the drum tommorow i'le have a good look to see how they are centred, - interesting. As it is, I don't think Ive noticed any bad sound with snares being overly sloppy sounding or anything but I haven't another to compare it to. it is making me think.

I wouldn't dream of it ,don't worry about that. Have I bought the right one though, or if not will at least the screws fit on the one already on.

the ebay number you posted is the correct one for a drum set snare drum. the screws will work on both butt ends. so yes it's correct.
